Reach is the Young Adults ministry at Windsor Christian Fellowship. Reach is committed to equipping young adults to communicate and demonstrate the purpose, principles, and power of the Kingdom of God by providing opportunities to connect with God and others. Reach is a safe atmosphere that also challenges and encourages growth
Reach is based on Romans 15:7 (MSG): So reach out and welcome one another to God's glory. Jesus did it; now you do it! Our goal is to reach out and make connections with others, empowering them to grow and succeed. Jesus is our example: he reached out to others and connected them to God; we want to do the same.
Reach is open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 35. No matter what the stage of life: single or married, attending college/university, pursuing a career, figuring out your next step, all are welcome.
Questioning who you are and your purpose in life is a place that everyone comes to at some point. Uncertainty about identity leads to a search for meaning and purpose, which will always turn up unsuccessful if not directed at Christ. In Him is where we find meaning and purpose; we are loved and completely accepted, chosen and holy.
Fear is often thought of only in the negative aspects of dread, terror, worry, and the like. Yet the Bible repeatedly tells us to fear the Lord. This type of fear is not the worry of being punished, but rather the worry of offending. We need to reverence the Lord to such a great degree that we are literally afraid of doing something that would hurt our relationship with Him. With the fear of the Lord as our motivation, doing right becomes that much easier.
The Bible calls us to live lives of purity: wholeheartedly pursuing God. Reaching far more than the physical aspect, purity is keeping ourselves free from anything that would distract us from God. It is keeping ourselves on guard and prepared so that sin does not overtake us. Plan ahead and stick to the plan. Boundaries are a critical part of purity. It's important to think about boundaries ahead of time; in the moment it is often difficult to decide on a boundary and then follow through with it.
Integrity involves sticking by your word: being a person who says something and then follows through with it. It is living publicly as you do privately: not living a double life. It's easy to say you'll do something; it's hard to actually follow through with it when it will cost you time and effort. Integrity involves being a person whose word is trustworthy. As others see your commitment to living with uprightness and character, they will be assured that you are someone that they can depend on.
Are you looking for a way to connect with other young adults in "friendly" athletic competition? Sports Night is an awesome time of sweating, playing, and (hopefully) winning. Whether male or female, veteran competitor or aspiring rookie, the night is accommodating to all. Sport of the week varies: past nights have featured dodgeball, handball, soccer, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, and more! Bleachers are available for those who'd prefer to spectate or keep score. Bring some friends and join us!
Chosen Sands is a co-ed, recreational volleyball league. Founded in the 90s, the league features a 3-tier system that has attracted some top players in its history. The atmosphere is competitive yet friendly, pitting teams against those of similar skill level. Our resident DJ provides the music to get you pumped up. Bleachers available for our spectating crowd of socializers. Cheerleaders welcome and appreciated.
